I created this project after a period in my life when I was feeling low. I had gone through back-to-back challenges in both work and life. Some days felt heavy, and I wasn't sure how to move forward.
I didn't want to let myself spiral downward, so I started writing gratitude journals and trying daily happiness actions — small steps that made me feel just a little better. Nothing big or overwhelming, just tiny moments of connection, presence, or joy.
Slowly, those small actions added up. I started to feel lighter. The heaviness didn't disappear completely, but I found myself noticing more good moments throughout my days. That's when I thought — what if I turned this experience into something others could try too?
So I made Happiness Calendar: a place where you can get one happiness action a day, and grow a joyful little tree as you complete them. It's a gentle reminder that growth happens slowly, one small action at a time.
It's just me building this, and I hope I can grow it together with the people who use it. This isn't about toxic positivity or ignoring real problems — it's about finding small moments of light even when things are difficult.
Maybe today is a good day to start.
One small action. One little light. You're not alone.
